The Cherry Blossom Festival has Begun! Get Ready for a Community Challenge!


The cherry blossom tree holds a very prominent place in Japanese culture and tradition. Every year the bloom of the cherry blossom trees signal the start of the Cherry Blossom Festival. Spring has arrived and that means this festival has begun. We invite all Need for Speed World players to take some time to read up on the festival; we already have and will be posting more about its history next week with the release of a special car!

In honor of this special Japanese festival we’re hosting a new Community Challenge! As with all Community Challenges, the NFS World community will need to pull together in order to earn the prize!
We’re challenging the entire community to complete 5 MILLION in-game events while driving Japanese cars between Monday, April 8 and Monday, April 15. That’s seven days to complete as many in-game events as many times as you can! It doesn’t matter if it’s a Circuit, Drag, Sprint or Team Escapes; if you finish the event in a Japanese car it will count towards the challenge.

To put things in perspective, on average Need for Speed World players complete just over 4 million in-game events over a seven day period (including the maintenance windows). In order for the community to complete this challenge they will definitely need to put in some extra time and complete as many events as possible!
If the community, as a whole, can complete more than 5,000,000 in-game events while driving Japanese cars we’ll release a universal code that will give every player one free Car Prize Pack!!
Here are the details for the Cherry Blossom Community Challenge:


When does the Cherry Blossom Community Challenge begin / end (challenge period)?
Starts: 9:00am PDT Monday, April 8
Ends: 8:00am PDT, Monday, April 15

What can I win?
If the community completes 5 MILLION in-game events while driving Japanese cars within the challenge period we will release a universal code that will hook all NFS World players up with one free Car Prize Pack!

How do I participate / enter?
All you need to do to participate is login to NFS World during the challenge period and complete as many in-game events (Circuit, Sprints, Team Escapes, or Drags) while driving a Japanese car as many times as you can!
To clarify, the following manufacturers are Japanese:
- Nissan
- Infiniti
- Mazda
- Toyota
- Scion
- Lexus
- Mitsubishi
- Subaru
It’s important to note that you need to finish the event (cross the finish line / evade)! If you enter the event but exit before crossing the finish line or successfully evading it will not count towards the challenge goal.

When will we know if we won?
We will announce the Cherry Blossom Community Challenge results on Tuesday, April 16. Please note that we will not be posting the community progress towards the goal; just keep racing!
If the community is successful we will release the prize immediately upon announcing the results!

Are there any restrictions on who can and cannot participate?
We are challenging the entire Need for Speed community which means that the challenge is open to all countries and all languages.

And one more thing! We haven’t forgotten about the Spring Edition Spot the Devs community event. We will finish it off so watch for those announcements after the Cherry Blossom Community Challenge.
